The Point. 1888 lights up new licensing line for Katie Alice

Th Point. 1888 is continuing to bolster it portfolio this year, having just secured an exclusive deal with the renowned design brand, Katie Alice.

The licensing specialist has once again been quick out of the starting blocks, and has already signed the brand’s first licensee in the form of Candlelight, the UK candle supplier and distributor. Under the deal, Candlelight will now develop a range of Katie Alice-inspired candles and diffusers.

Alice is known for her unique designs that she creates by selecting prints from a specialist in vintage artwork, and then developing these into something new. The brand is a Chelsea Flower Show favourite and was recently named “future star of the interior world” by the Daily Telegraph.

Alice has already seen success as a ceramics range, Vintage Indigo, in Waitrose and has established a loyal legion of followers thanks in part to her blog Katie-Alice.co.uk. The Point.1888 has been tasked with securing more of the retailer’s shelf space for items such as stationery, gifts, home fragrance and candles.

Over the last few years, The Point.1888 has built a reputation for building  and growing design brands from concept through to full execution in store. A recent example of this was building the Yvonne Ellen brand from a few Etsy pieces to one of the most successful ceramics and stationery ranges in John Lewis.

Will Stewart, managing director of The Point.1888, said: “Katie Alice is a hugely talented designer whose work has quickly become a must-have for many households in the UK. By working with her, we hope to build on this success, bringing to market a large collection of beautiful, high quality products that her existing customers and new audiences will love.”

Katie Alice added: “The Point.1888 has proven experience of taking designer brands to extraordinary heights but I am overwhelmed at just how quickly they have found me my first partner. I’m delighted to be working with Candlelight and can’t wait to see the products developed.”

The Katie Alice X Candlelight product range is now in development and will be unveiled at this year’s Autumn Fair in September.
