USAopoly teams with Disney and Pixar to launch Toy Story chess and card game

USAopoly has detailed its latest collaboration, this time with Disney and Pixar for a raft of Toy Story licensed games. The range – which includes a Collector’s Chess Set inspired by the franchise, and a co-op deck-building game called Toy Story: Obstacles and Adventures, will land this autumn.

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story: Obstacles and Adventures reimagines players as the iconic toys from the film – Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep and Rex – who each need to work together to overcome hazards and bring about a happily-ever-after ending.

The game will utilise USAopoly’s renowned Mensa Select-winning game mechanic, allowing players to experience a progressing storyline, and will feature six boxes of cards, each representing a different movie from the franchise.

As each box is unlocked, the content from the associated film or short is introduced to the game, adding in characters like Hamm and Mr. Pricklepants to the mix, as well as obstacles and antagonists to battle, including Sid, Prospector Pete and many more.

“Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story: Obstacles and Adventures is designed for everyone who believes that toys don’t belong on a shelf,” said Kami Mandell, senior game designer at USAopoly. “From the moment the first box is opened, the game transports players to the imaginative world of Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story, allowing them to create their own adventures and unstoppable teams as they relive the charm and magic that is Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story.”

USAopoly has also revealed a new Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story licensed Collector’s Chess Set, featuring full-colour figures of characters from the hit franchise.

Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story: Obstacles and Adventures is designed for two to five players ages eight and up, with an estimated play time of 45 to 90 minutes. Disney and Pixar’s Toy Story: Obstacles and Adventures and the Collector’s Chess Set gallop into retail stores autumn this year.
