Rockefeller and Selladoor detail Mr Men & Little Miss return to the stage

Answering calls for a return to the stage, Roger Hargreaves’ beloved kids’ book series Mr Men and Little Miss has detailed an extensive UK tour with a new live production.

The Mr Men & Little Miss On Stage will kick of a major UK tour when it opens at the Underbelly Edinburgh Fringe this summer, and will witness the popular character parade take to the stage in puppet form in what Sanrio has billed as a ‘beautifully crafted and hilarious live stage show.’

Produced by Selladoor Family and Rockefeller Productions, the show will feature iconic characters such as Mr Bump, Little Miss Sunshine, Mr Tickle, and Little Miss Inventor, and will see Happyland ‘burst to life in a series of hilarious and colourful stories told through puppetry and music.’

Selladoor Family has seen recent on stage success with the likes of  Madagascar the Musical, Guess How Much I Love You, James and the Giant Peach and Seussical,  while the New York-based Rockefeller Productions is known for bringing brands like The Very Hungry Caterpillar, and Elmer the Patchwork Elephant to the live production space.

“It has been a very long time since the Mr Men and Little Misses have had their own live show so we are very excited to see the characters come to life,” said Sabrina Segalov, senior licensing manager at Sanrio.

“Rockefeller is the perfect partner to work with on this and have really captured the essence of the characters and the humour of the brand.”

Mr. Men & Little Miss On Stage is written by James Corrigan, directed by Christa Harris with puppet design from Paul Jomain.

Alexander Parker lead producer for Selladoor Family, added: “We’re delighted to be joining Underbelly to bring a new and exciting live theatre experience to the next generation of Fringe goers. Selladoor Family is committed to engaging young people in theatre and strongly believe these experiences help to develop a sense of imagination, playfulness and confidence.”
