The Vivendi-owned Copyrights Group has signed up to represent the French animated IP Mush Mush and the Mushables across brand development, licensing and merchandising.
Mush Mush and the Mushables – created by the Parisian outfit, La Cabane, a studio founded in 2015 by Perrine Gauthier – will be launched to the industry at Brand Licensing Europe this year.
Created by Elfriede de Rooster, the Mush-Mush & the Mushables property is making its debut as a CG comedy adventure TV series set to premier across 150 territories in 2020. The series is directed by Joeri Christiaen (My Knight and Me) and produced by La Cabane and Thuristar, in co- production with Cake, who is distributing the show worldwide.
The series will air internationally on Boomerang (in addition to Turner Kids channels Cartoon Network, Boing and Pogo in select markets), in France on Canal+ Family and Piwi+, in Belgium on VRT-Ketnet and RTBF, in Switzerland on RTS and in the Netherlands on RTL Telekids.
As the appointed exclusive brand licensing agent, London-based Copyrights Group – brand owner and global licensing agent for Paddington, amongst other IP – will be responsible for the brand strategy rollout and the licensing program development for Mush-Mush & the Mushables worldwide (excluding Greater China), alongside the two production companies and creative studios behind the development and production of this original IP – France’s La Cabane and Belgium’s Thuristar.
Perrine Gauthier, founder and producer, La Cabane and Thuristar, said: “We are very excited to launch this property and unique world to the licensing and merchandising arena and to join forces with Copyrights Group in developing a quality and long-lasting brand with the expertise of Sophie and her team.”
Sophie Kopaczynski, CEO, Copyrights Group, added: “We are thrilled to partner with La Cabane and Thuristar on Mush-Mush & the Mushables to build a 360° brand strategy. It is exciting to work on such a property being full of genuine heart, fun and entertainment. And we truly believe that children around the world are just going to love it as much as we do.”
