Activision Blizzard launches new TV studio

Activision Blizzard is creating new original TV content based on its video game properties, with the launch of Activision Blizzard Studios.

The studio’s first production will be a new animated TV series called Skylanders Academy, which is based on the company’s Skylanders video game franchise.

Actors including Justin Long, Ashley Tisdale, Jonathan Banks and Norm Macdonald, will all feature in the series.

Activision Blizzard Studio is also developing its Call of Duty franchise for film.

Former Disney exec Nick van Dyk will be co-heading the new division.
