Alton Towers’ CBeebies Land to bring In The Night Garden to life

DHX Media has signed an agreement with BBC Worldwide and Merlin Entertainment to bring the In The Night Garden property to the new Alton Towers attraction, CBeebies Land.

The new deal will see the popular pre-school property brought to life via the In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, taking fans of the show on a ride through a ‘real woodland Night Garden.’

A collaboration between BBC Worldwide and Merlin Entertainments, CBeebies Land will launch at Alton Towers Resort in the UK in May.

The new attraction will feature a five acre site dedicated to live appearances, play areas and hands-on activities for youngsters.

Stephen Gould, commercial director at DHX Media, said: "This is a fantastic opportunity to bring the much loved In The Night Garden brand to pre-school fans and their families in a new interactive and engaging way.

"We are extremely excited to be working in partnership with BBC WorldWide, Merlin Entertainments and Alton Towers Resort on this new venture.

"In The Night Garden is the ideal draw brand to provide a fun, nurturing, inspiring and immersive environment for CBeebies Land and its visitors."

Alton Towers Resort’s head of consumer marketing, Katherine Duckworth, added: "Our In The Night Garden Magical Boat Ride will take guests on a journey to discover Iggle Piggle, Upsy Daisy and Makka Pakka.

"Children can watch and listen to the sights and sounds of the programme as In The Night Garden is brought to life."

In The Night Garden was recently voted fourth in a survey of the most popular children’s programmes of all time.

DHX Media has also recently renewed its broadcasting deal with CBeebies, ensuring the series will continue to air until at least Spring 2021.
