American Girl has revealed it is teaming up with Scholastic, who will launch an extensive publishing program based on the brand.
The multi-year deal includes rights to publish books in print and digital formats starting from January 2017, across the UK, US, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Asia.
"American Girl has earned the loyalty and praise from parents and educators and continues to create unforgettable memories for millions of girls," said Ellie Berger, executive VP of Scholastic and president of Scholastic Trade Publishing.
"We are thrilled to collaborate with the American Girl team to develop an exciting and innovative publishing program that inspires, celebrates, and empowers girls, while instilling a lifelong love of reading."
The range of books will be designed for kids aged from five to 12-years-old, and will also include publishing for American Girl’s popular Girl of the Year collection.
In addition, Scholastic will publish a non-fiction chapter book series inspired by the brand’s BeForeverline.
