New AR book brand, Incredebooks has signed with Mind Candy for next generation of children's reading titles.

AR Moshi Monster activity books to hit the US this year

Mind Candy has teamed with publishing firm, Mercury Inpress to launch an augmented reality book series based on Moshi Monsters.

The first licensing agreement for Mercury’s Incredebooks brand, the partnership will see a collection of colouring and activity books launch across the US later this year.

The Moshi Monsters” Colour Alive book series has been billed to blend the everyday colouring book with a fully customisable, augmented reality action game.

The series will debut in stores across North America in the third quarter of 2014, in time for the Christmas season.

Preceding the partnership however, Incredebooks will make its Canadian and US publishing debut with a collection of AR stories based on popular children’s fairy tales.

Titled Funny Fables, the collection will feature stories such as Little Red Riding Hood, Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and The Three Little Pigs.

The range aims to engage kids with reading with the use interactive activities designed to develop comprehensive learning skills.

Reuben Amand, president of Mercury Inpress, said: “We are delighted to have signed our first licensing agreement with Mind Candy to develop a series of next generation, colouring and activity books for Moshi Monsters.

“The books are sure to entertain any number of the 80 million registered users of the brand’s website.”
