Art sector gears up for Surtex Asia

A number of top design studios have pledged their support for Surtex Asia – which takes place next month in Shanghai.

The show – which is making its debut in the region – will run from August 25th to 27th at the Kerry Hotel in Pudong, Shanghai.

Exhibitors will reveal their latest collections to over 1,500 textile manufacturers who will attend from China, South East Asia and the Middle East.

Among the studios confirmed to participate are Artwork Design (UK), AVA CAD/CAM Group (UK), Jerome Thilly (France) and TrendArt (Italy/UK).

Textile manufacturers confirmed include Beautiful Day Craft & Painting Factory, Shanghai Blue Rose Trading, Ningbo Sunny Textile and Dongguan City Mingshang Homeware among others.

"The positive response to Surtex Asia by both the world’s top studios as well as design-focused Asian manufacturers has generated great momentum," said Penny Sikalis, GLM VP and Surtex Asia show manager. "There’s an energy and excitement behind this new market, and a collective understanding that it will greatly impact Asian textile manufacturing."
