Authentic Brands Group opens Mexico HQ as key to international markets

Authentic Brands Group has detailed the opening of ABG Mexico, a move that will add to the company’s footprint in key international markets across Mexico, Central and South America.

The HQ is located in the Colonia Polanco neighbourhood of Mexico City, and is dedicated to generating growth opportunities for the company’s portfolio across the region.

ABG is a powerhouse brand development, marketing and entertainment company, which owns more than 50 global brands and properties including Juicy Couture, Vince Camuto, Marilyn Monroe, Elvis Presley, Thalia Sodi, Shaquille O’Neal, Spyder, Volcom, Prince and Sports Illustrated.

Its portfolio additionally includes lifestyle brand Nautica, which launched in Mexico over two decades ago and today offers full assortments for men, women and kids in the region, with key collections available in all Liverpool and El Palacio de Hierro department stores.

Other ABG-owned fashion lifestyle brands including Aéropostale and Nine West have also established a strong presence across Mexico and Latin America in recent years, each with approximately 350 points of distribution across the region.

“We’re excited to open ABG Mexico, which services incredibly important growth markets for our brands,” said Jamie Salter, founder, chairman and CEO of ABG. “As we continue to expand and interpret our brands for key territories around the world, we are bringing on local expertise to develop tailored approaches that uniquely bring each brand to life for regional consumers. We look forward to diversifying our network of best-in-class partners to harvest the tremendous opportunities that await.”

ABG’s new office outpost houses a dedicated team with expertise in business development, brand management, marketing and visual merchandising.

Coinciding with the opening of ABG Mexico, the company announces the appointment of Monica Nahúm as VP business development for Latin America. Having held senior-level positions at Mattel and The Walt Disney Company and represented studios such as Fox, Sesame Street and NFL, Nahúm specialises in brand development, licensing, consumer products and retail.

She now leads the charge in driving ABG’s momentum across Mexico and Latin America and establishing strategic partnerships for its brands in the marketplace.

The launch of ABG Mexico further broadens the ABG enterprise, whose flagship headquarters are located in New York. The company also has offices in Toronto, Shanghai and Los Angeles and will continue to grow its global presence with its expansion into Europe in 2020.
