Babar celebrates 80th year with exclusive menswear

Babar is celebrating its 80th anniversary with a new menswear collection from Danish designer and Soulland CEO, Silas Adler.

The worldwide brand’s Babar Meets Soulland range has been developed and distributed exclusively through Parisienne retailer Colette.

For a limited time the collection is available from selected retailers across the world including Opening Ceremony in the US and online at openingceremony.us.

The collection is also available at London’s Goodhood, Brussels’ Hunting and Collecting and Berlin’s Soto et Voo.

The Babar Meets Soulland collection is comprised of long and short sleeve button-down shirts, T-shirts, sweatshirts and shorts all featuring vintage illustrations from Babar author and illustrator Jean de Brunoff.

Adler said: "I have been a fan of Babar and his universe since I was four years old, so it was a great honour being able to work on the collaboration.

"I was particularly inspired by a story from the first book, where Babar goes to the tailor to get his first suit – a bright green suit."

The line debuted with a high-fashion soiree at Colette in Paris earlier this month.
