Barbie is teaming up with X-Factor vocal coach Yvie Burnett in a competition to celebrate the release of Barbie and the Secret Door this year.
The new musical Barbie DVD will be hitting shelves this September along with a new tie-in toy range.
A national competition is being run on the dedicated Barbie and the Secret Door microsite, offering fans the chance to win a place at the Barbie Secret Door Singing Class.
Here, lucky winners will be treated to a singing masterclass with Barbie and Burnett.
Taking place at Razzamatazz’s Ashmole Academy in London on August 23rd, 2014, the winners will also be offered an exclusive screening of the new movie.
For those who weren’t able to attend the event, a special Barbie Secret Door Musictorial video will be available via the Barbie website, offering tips from Burnett and sing-along tracks from the movie.
The competition is the latest development in the extensive marketing programme to support the new DVD and toy line, including a partnership with Vue cinemas, a TV campaign, digital partnerships and retail promotions.
Furthermore, in partnership with both Mattel and Universal, Razzamatazz will also be holding limited edition Secret Door Singing Masterclasses at 27 of its schools across the country on Saturday, August 30th.
These classes will be open to kids aged three to eight, and are designed to help them develop their voice and perform songs from Barbie’s new movie.
