Barbour unveils The Snowman and The Snowdog inspired Christmas campaign

Lifestyle brand Barbour has debuted its new Christmas campaign online, based on the children’s animation The Snowman and The Snowdog.

Dubbed Gifts They’ll Always Remember, the campaign features a 60-second animation film made by Lupus Films, which tells the story of an adult Billy remembering the year he was given a gift from Father Christmas.

“We are delighted to be working with Snowman Enterprises to bring our Christmas campaign to life. Dogs are such an important part of the Barbour way of life that we knew that an association with The Snowman and The Snowdog would appeal to our customers,” said Paul Wilkinson, director of global marketing at Barbour.

“It is a very special book and film, which recreates the nostalgia of childhood and the joy of giving at Christmas time. Barbour is a brand that evokes fond memories of shared times and places and Gifts They’ll Always Remember feels true to what happens when you gift Barbour at Christmas time.”

Kicking off on November 3rd, the campaign will roll out across Barbour’s social media including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, Tumblr and YouTube. From November 14th, Barbour’s retail stores will also promote the campaign using POS windows.

Damian Treece, brand manager for Snowman Enterprises Ltd at Penguin Ventures added: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be partnering with Barbour for their Christmas campaign.

“The campaign brings together two iconic British brands, centering on the shared values of both Barbour and The Snowman. For the first time we have developed custom animation outside of the original story arc of The Snowman and The Snowdog and we can’t wait to see the response.”
