BBC Studios is partnering with the Design Museum to celebrate the creativity behind CBeebies’ award-winning series Hey Duggee, launching a special exhibition called Designing Hey Duggee.
The exhibition will run this October half term from the 25th to 28th, and will provide the chance to dive into the colourful world of Hey Duggee from never-before-seen early sketches to an exclusive look inside the design, animation and production process of the series creator, Studio AKA and its Creative Director, Grant Orchard.
Hey Duggee is a modern design classic that has captivated fans of all ages with its graphics, bright colours and charismatic characters. This exhibition is a chance to see how the world was brought to life with episodes, clips and insights into key features of the show such as the famous badges.
Grant Orchard, creator of Hey Duggee, Studio AKA, said: “As a child I used to go to the Commonwealth Institute and be inspired by what I saw there, so it’s such an honour to have my early sketches, designs and concepts on display at what has now become the Design Museum.
“The exhibition offers our creative fans a chance to explore the design secrets behind Hey Duggee’s success, and I hope that it will inspire children to pick up a pencil and get sketching too.”
