Rumours have been sparked that Condon will direct Disney's live action remake of the classic animation.

Bill Condon to direct live action Beauty and the Beast?

Bill Condon, the man behind the camera for Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, is rumoured to be directing Disney’s live-action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast.

With the working title, The Beast little is known about the production, except that script writing is under way.

Condon, who has also directed The Fifth Estate and Gods and Monsters, has been linked to the movie following a Tweet from Film Divider, reports Collider.

The Tweet read, “Expect Breaking Dawn and Gods and Monsters’ Bill Condon to direct Disney’s live action take on Beauty and the Beast.”

Beauty and the Beast joins a plethora of Disney animated films to be given the live-action remake, sparked by 2010’s Alice in Wonderland and includes the likes of Maleficent, The Jungle Book and Cruella.
