BAFTA nominated children’s series, Bing is celebrating chart success having stormed to the top of the UK’s iTunes store.
Produced by Acamar Films and Brown Bag Films, the show has reportedly ‘seen an incredible year’ since its launch last summer.
The iTunes triumph mirrors Bing’s success on the BBC’s iPlayer, where the animated series has garnered 22.6 million views since its launch on the platform.
Continuing the popularity of the series, 2015 will see Bing launch to new audiences across the globe, with 30 new territories now under negotiation.
Elesewhere, Acamar has teamed with Immediate Media to introduce Bing to the official CBeebies magazine from next month.
“It is fantastic to see how popular Bing has become with preschool children and their families,” said Bethan Garton, Acamar’s head of licensing.
“He’s already a treasured part of their daily routines. Our iTunes Chart success and extraordinary BBC iPlayer download numbers are testament to just how much of a hit he has become.”
Bing has been adapted from the award-winning book series from author and illustrator, Ted Dewan and now enjoys a burgeoning licensing portfolio with key partners including the likes of Fisher-Price, Harper Collins and Ravensburger.
