Bioworld sees Pokémon apparel demand rocket following Pokémon Go launch

Licensed apparel specialist, Bioworld Europe, has seen a surge in sales of its Pokémon-themed collections following the global success of Pokémon Go.

The launch of the game that sees players engage in the search for a cast of Pokémon in real world locations through the power of AR has revitalised the brand in the last week.

The clothing firm has labeled the current love for the franchise as a ‘phenomenon.’

‘The news is full of Pokémon Go updates, from spontaneous gatherings of fans to internet usage states,’ read a statement from the firm.

‘The phones haven’t stopped ringing here either with everyone rightly wanting to ensure they are ready to go.’

The company has seen demand pick up for its collection of Pokémon themed and inspired streetwear, including t-shirts, hoodies and accessories.

“With the enormous buzz around all things Pokémon, we have many retailers requesting special Pokémon products and we are developing an even wider collection to meet that demand,” added Leon van der Made, product manager at Bioworld Europe.

“We have a great stock collection available now and ready to go.”
