Birds Eye launches social media inspired potato shapes with Mashtags

Social media has moved one step towards entirely taking over our lives, this time infiltrating the potato shapes market.

Birds Eye is launching a range of social media-inspired potato shapes called Mashtags, to ‘get the conversation started and liven up mealtimes’.

Mashtags are made from British potatoes and feature shapes including the hashtag, @ symbol, stars and emoticons of smiley faces and hearts.

Birds Eye claims that Mashtags are ‘the perfect food for a social media fixated nation’.

Mashtags are available at £1.75 from Sainsbury’s now, and will land at Asda and Tesco in March.
