Black Panther’s box office success inspires licensed ranges

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther has enjoyed the biggest February movie opening of all time in the UK, taking an estimated £17.7m.

The film has also garnered outstanding reviews from critics, becoming the best-reviewed superhero film of all time according to Rotten Tomatoes, overtaking contemporaries like The Dark Knight and Logan.

Naturally, Disney has gone all out with the IP, with licensed product ranges in fashion, toys, collectables and more.

Clarks has released an official Black Panther trainer, the TriEvo Panther, featuring a slick, all-black design and branding with the film’s logo, available in stores now.

Meanwhile, in toys, LEGO will bring Wakanda to life with a range of licensed playsets including a Royal Talon Fighter Attack vehicle. Youngsters can feel like the Panther himself with the NERF Gauntlet from Hasbro in addition to the official Black Panther mask.

Funko will be giving the film’s cast their trademark adorable makeover with a range of Pop! vinyl figurines and keyrings. Disney Store will also be offering various homewares, bags, toys and more.

Finally, as anyone with even a passing interest in music will know, critically-acclaimed rapper Kendrick Lamar has collaborated with a plethora of current artists to create the official Black Panther album. The record is now available in all music shops and streaming services.
