Pim-Pimlada studio was established in August 2012 with an emphasis on producing high quality surface pattern designs and creating a wide assortment of design collections for licensing.
It was founded by Pimlada Phuapradit, a surface pattern designer and illustrator based in Bangkok, Thailand. Born and raised in Bangkok, she has always been fascinated by the world of design, and it has taken her on a wonderful journey of discovery. After earning a BA in Textile Design from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology, Australia, she returned to Bangkok where she worked as a knitwear designer and freelance surface designer.
Phuapradit’s love for drawing and curiosity led her to pursue further training in figurative and narrative arts and she qualified from the School of Visual Arts (SVA), New York, in 2011. Now she continues to work in the field of surface and textile design while consistently looking for new ways to introduce whimsical illustrative elements into her design works.
This is Phuapradit’s first time exhibiting at BLE. She explains: “I have been preparing with lots of sketches and researches on colours and themes for my novelty and conversational print collections. This year I will be introducing my new series of surface pattern designs in both fall and summer palettes. The key collections include series of small floral repeat and classic paisley designs, kids’ collections with fun characters and the canine series feature illustrations of dogs from different breeds.”
