BLE 2014: ITV showcases growing third party portfolio

ITV Studios Global Entertainment is showcasing its growing third party portfolio at BLE this year.

The firm is seeking partners to work with its line-up of third party properties including Matt Hatter Chronicles, Cut the Rope, Digimon, Village People Playmobil, and Super 4.

“BLE will be an exciting platform to showcase our iconic and innovative brands," said Trudi Hayward, SVP, head of global merchandising for ITV Studios Global Entertainment.

"In addition to presenting the latest opportunities, we will seek partners that can help to build each of our properties so that, together, we can help them unleash their full potential.”

ITVS GE is currently working with Matt Hatter Chronicles’ UK licensing partners and Platinum Films to prepare 2015 retail launches in categories spanning wheeled toys, posters, stationery, homewares, personal care, bags and fashion accessories, nightwear and underwear and home accessories.

Elsewhere, for Playmobil-inspired TV show Super 4, ITVS GE is seeking licensing partners in key categories including publishing, periphery toys and games, apparel and accessories, gifting, home entertainment, stationery and FMCG.

Current partners on board for Cut the Rope include Vivid whose line of plush, key chains and collectables has launched across the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Benelux and Portugal, Activision for a Nintendo DS game and apparel withSmith & Brooks and Ackroyd/TDP respectively. 

McDonalds Europe is also currently running a 37 European territory promotion which also sees the launch of ‘Cut the Rope: Hungry for Fruit’ app.

ITV is also re-launching Digimon this year. Digimon Fusion launched on CITV and ITV this spring and Panini UK is the latest partner to join the brand with a magazine, an annual and collectable sticker set to launch in March 2015. 

Bandai’s master toy range launched in April and ITVS GE is also licensing retro designs from the original seasons for fashion-led adult apparel and accessories targeted to super-fans of the brand.

Sticking with the retro theme, toy brand Playmobil is celebrating 40 years this year and ITVS GE is building a consumer products campaign aimed at the adult retro/nostalgic market.

ITVS GE also represents disoc icons The Village People the UK and leading the apparel-led consumer products campaign are licensees Coneen, Miserli and Trademark. 

Smiffy’s high-end dress up is already a success and the firm’s Village People product range will grow to include accessories, gifts, greetings, publishing, home wares, hard lines and back to school.
