SmileyWorld is looking to enter several new publishing categories following success in the sector this year.
By the end of 2015, SmileyWorld will have published 37 titles with Livres du Dragon d’Or, with 17 of those publishing in 2015, a significant growth from the seven titles published in 2013.
There are 19 titles planned for 2016, and now the firm is looking to enter new publishing categories across partworks, language learning, self help, syndication and YA fiction.
In partworks, SmileyWorld is looking to tap into themes including cooking, friendship, crafts and activities while the company is also seeking to partner up with leading language learning companies to produce a new way to teach languages to children and adults.
In self-help, SmileyWorld is partnering up with leading emotions experts to create ‘The Smiley Guide to Life’ series of books, which are intended to give insight into how learning more about emotions and how to deal with them can help you smile every day.
Titles will be targeted at adults, parents and teens.
Smiley is also targeting deals across syndication and news while in the Young Adult fiction space, the firm is looking to launch a series of novels in a diary format illustrated with SmileyWorld icons.
