BLE 2016 investigates solution to Yom Kippur date clash

Brand Licensing Europe organisers, UBM Advanstar is working with exhibitors to find a solution to next year’s show’s date clash with Yom Kippur.

BLE 2016 takes place from October 11th to 13th at London’s Olympia, falling across the same date range as the Jewish holy day.

Having already explored the options of moving the show dates to no avail, UBM Advanstar is now working with exhibitors to explore the option of flexible opening hours for next year’s show.

“It is certainly not an ideal situation, and we have had extensive and very thoughtful discussions about how best to work around this challenge as we recognise that this dateline is going to adversely impact some of our Jewish friends and colleagues within the licensing industry,” said BLE event director, Darren Brechin.

“In consultation with those clients, we are now looking for a number of opening hours options to try and ease attendance issues.”

Exhibitors are being consulted with this week and any changes to the show’s operating hours will be announced soon.
