This year’s Bologna Licensing Trade Fair is welcoming a new initiative in the form of the Licensing Prospect Day.
The Licensing Prospect Day, on March 31st, aims to enable manufacturing companies new to the licensing sector the opportunity to meet a selection of brands exhibiting at the show, generating new and concrete business opportunities.
Bologna Licensing Trade Fair is the only trade event in Italy dedicated to the business of subsidiary rights, with the participation of the main Italian and international licensors and licensing agencies.
Last year, the show attracted a ten per cent increase in exhibitors, while visitor numbers grew to 2,500, including an upswing in retailer and licensee numbers.
New exhibitors at the fair this year includes Mattel, The Licensing Company, Smiley, Pokemon, Fahion UK, Inosat, Method Animation.
There is a focus on pre-school properties with the likes of Peppa Pig, Calimero, Topo Tip and Masha and the Bear as well as major movie firms like Universal, 20th Century Fox and Dreamworks.
Other exhibitors include Lamborghini, 4K Media, Sega Videogames Publishing, Planeta Junior, Leoni Spa, Rainbow, ETS Italy, Geoworld, Studio Campedelli, Backstage Licensing, Grani&Partners, Starbright, Studio Bozzetto, Pea & Promoplast, Cool Things, CPLG Italy, Atlantyca, EQSG, Dynit, Premium Licensing, Eurolizenzen, TF1, Maurizio Di Stefano Licensing, Mondo TV, Maga Animation, Team Entertainment, Dic 2 Licensing and Dracco.
The show’s Licensing Retail Day, on April 1st, sees retail key players meet licensing professionals while the fair also boasts a Licensing Masterclass. The two half days of training focus on the basics of licensing on the first day and publishing and licensing on the second day.
