British fashion brand Cath Kidston readies exclusive Winnie the Pooh line

High Street retailer Cath Kidston has teamed with Disney to develop a special line of Winnie the Pooh themed products.

Under the partnership, the fashion brand was given access to the studio’s archives to source original character illustrations in order to produce its limited edition collection.

Cath Kidston will now launch a seasonal collection of womenswear, bags, homeware and kidswear.

“Disney really admired our design credentials and I think it recognised that we are really serious about the way we approach quality, design and the way we approach the artistry,” Cath Kidston’s Sue Chidler told Retail Gazette.

“We felt it was a really good marriage between to very artist-led brands and we felt it was a genuine collaboration.

“Winnie the Pooh is a British characterswith a British story and obviously a very British brand, so it was something that we wanted to be able to work with across all of our categories as well.”

While Winnie the Pooh will star in the one off collection, Cath Kidston designers are also working on a Mickey and Minnie Mouse collection.

The special Disney range will be available in select Cath Kidston shops later this year.
