The British menswear label, Kent & Curwen has collaborated with Endemol Shine to launch an autumn/winter 2019 tailored collection inspired by Peaky Blinders.
Under the eye of creative director Daniel Kearns and business partner, David Beckham, Kent & Curwen’s ‘Garrison Tailors by Order of the Peaky Blinders’ collection is an official collaboration with the makers of the series.
The collection sits alongside Kent & Curwen’s main collection and consists of wardrobe essentials inspired by the series. Classic three-piece tweed suits, signature collarless shirts, peg-leg wool trousers and flat caps all evoke the sartorial atmosphere of the era.
Meanwhile, illustrated ‘new rose’ canvas patches draw inspiration from Victorian photographic plates, adding to the capsules British style.
“A rare image of Kent & Curwen’s founder Eric Kent with his brother, soon after the end of WW1 became my creative starting point for next winter’s collection,” said Daniel Kearns, Kent & Curwen creative director.
“The grainy photograph shows a proud military man in uniform returning to 1920s London, intent on establishing his clubwear and uniform business in tie stripes, blazers and knitwear.”
Peaky Blinders is a BAFTA winning series produced for the BBC by Caryn Mandabach Production and Tiger Aspect Production. It is licensed by Endemol Shine Group.
