Bulldog Licensing eyes up US expansion

Bulldog Licensing is expanding into the US market, with a subsidiary opening in New York.

Bulldog Licensing Inc will be managed by Laurie Windrow (pictured), who takes on the role of MD. She has more than 20 years experience in the licensing sector, having previously managed global brands including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Pokémon, Build-a-Bear Workshop and Discovery Channel.

Although Bulldog Licensing has been established as a separate entity, the firm will act as an extension of Bulldog in the UK. It will also be working on behalf of Bulldog’s existing UK licensors to help them enter the US market, where rights allow.

"Expansion into the US market is a great development for us, as it gives us a presence in what is the home of licensing, and it’s a real privilege to be working with Laurie," said Rob Corney, Bulldog Licensing’s group managing director. "Her appointment maintains our strategy of retaining a boutique agency approach, even as we expand, by bringing in exceptional people to directly manage our day to day business.

"This expansion comes at a particularly exciting time as the Licensing Expo is just around the corner, which will give us a chance to explore opportunities with brand owners across our newly broadened horizons."
