Popular online game franchise Candy Crush is entering the world of publishing thanks to a new deal with global publishing licensee, Little Brown.
In partnership with King Digital Entertainment, the creators of the hit mobile and online gaming title, Little Brown will launch the first two books in the Candy Crush collection this autumn.
The Official Candy Crush Saga Top Tips Guide and The Candy Crush Colouring Book have been developed exclusively to offer fans of the game an in-depth look at the Candy Kingdom and its parallel Dreamworld, as well as offer adults the chance to further engage with the popular brand.
“We are excited to partner with Little Brown to create the first Candy Crush inspired book collection,” said Claes Kalborg, senior director of licensing at King.
“The Candy Crush online community is always hungry for tips to pass tricky levels so we are confident this comprehensive guide will be a hit with players. Additionally, we have combined two of the hottest trends right now – mobile gaming and adult colouring – to produce the Candy Crush colouring book which is as intricate and beautifully designed as the game itself.”
Adam Strange, publishing director for Sphere non-fiction at Little Brown, added: “We are delighted to be working with King and the Candy Crush team and these first two projects have tremendous potential.
“We know from our own research that there’ a huge demand for official help with some of the game’s more challenging levels so are confident that the Guide will really take off. And with a brand as powerful as Candy Crush behind it, we believe the colouring book has what it takes to elevate a growing publishing trend to a whole new level.”
