Cartoon Network details new Adventure Time Card Wars fan experience initiative

Cartoon Network’s hit animated series Adventure Time is about to embark on an immersive fan-experience spanning digital and mobile gaming content.

Developed to coincide with the launch of season eight of the series, the multi-platform rollout will also see the arrival of a new line of consumer products inspired by Adventure Time Card Wars.

Card Wars began life as an Adventure Time episode before evolving into an app for iPhone and iPad in 2014. The game has since achieved five million downloads.

A stand alone, multi-platform Adventure Time Card Wars initiative will now expand over the summer.

Leading the activity will be the launch of a new episode titles Daddy-Daughter Card Wars on July 7th. The episode will have a next day launch on the Cartoon Network video app, iTunes, Google Play and Amazon.

A special Adventure Time: Card Wars DVD will then launch on July 12th featuring the Card Wars episode, 14 curated episodes and an exclusive card for the physical game that arrives this August.

At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Crytozoic Entertainment will introduce fans to the tabletop game with a Card Wars Doubles Tournament.

The game itself will launch on August 3rd.

Meanwhile, Kung Fu Factory has developed an exclusive Card Wars Kingdom app, reimagining Card Wars gameplay and will be joined by an official guidebook from Penguin Books later this year.
