Cartoon Network expands Mighty Magiswords into full-length series

Cartoon Network is set to boost its Mighty Magiswords franchise into a full-length series for fans to enjoy.

After making its debut last year on the Cartoon Network Anything micro-network as a 15-second interactive series, the comedy will launch this autumn as part of a connected content ecosystem.

So far almost 400 pieces of platform-specific original content have been created, which includes shorts, vlogs, web and mobile games and interactive narrative content.

This will then be enhanced with technology to allow fans to participate in the world of Mighty Magiswords and collect their favourite swords.

Rob Sorcher, CCO at Cartoon Network, said: “Mighty Magiswords has been an incredible journey, starting as a simple interactive digital product and organically developing into a true multi-story world.

“Expect Magiswords to continue expansion in tech and content, with new ways for the audience to participate, contribute, play, watch and collect.”

The firm will introduce the series to fans throughout the summer with a series of character-driven shorts, a web game and on-air spots.
