Cartoon Network gives kids chance to broadcast their own shows

Cartoon Network has launched the Cartoon Network Imagination Studios Awards competition for kids to see their own creations air on TV.

Linked to Cartoon Network Imagination Studios, the competition provides the opportunity for kids six to 12 to use inspiration for their very own creations, in the form of a new character, story or storyboard, or even try their hand at making a short film or animation.

British writer, comedian and TV presenter David Baddiel is encouraging as many kids as possible to take part.

"Because of many, many kids TV shows available today, children now have much more sophisticated story and comedy sense than my generation, who basically had The Magic Roundabout,” commented Baddiel. “This is a brilliant initiative for children to get creative and use that sophistication to make something that will actually be shown on one of the best kids TV channels, Cartoon Network. If I was 10 I couldn’t think of anything more exciting than seeing my show back-to-back with The Amazing World of Gumball."

The competition is now open and will run until midnight on 1st December 2015. Entrants must be aged six to 12.
