CBeebies readies for season of sport with new Footy Pups series

CBeebies has commissioned a second series of the hit kids’ show Footy Pups as the BBC Children’s strand prepares for a season of football.

Created by the award-winning children’s television producer Dot to Dot Productions, Footy Pups is dedicated to teaching children aged three to six basic sports skills.

The series – narrated by John Motson and Arsenal’s Rachel Yankey – the show is expected to be a big hit for the channel as the nation prepares for Euro 16.

Kay Benow, controller at CBeebies, said: “As a passionate football fan myself, it’s great to be inspiring the next generation of players by bringing new episodes of Footy Pups to CBeebies.

“Rachel is a brilliant coach and presenter and I know our audience will continue to love following the adventures of the Footy Pups while learning football skills at the same time.”

Elsewhere, Dot to Dot has also been commissioned to produce a third series of Art Ninja, a series that sees presenter and real life animator Ricky Martin create iconic art pieces with his trademark ninja moves.
