PGS Entertainment has signed a raft of deals to bring animated series Chaplin & Co to new territories.
Chaplin & Co has been snapped up by RAI in Italy, RTVE in Spain, Canal Panda in Spain, RSI in Italian Switzerland, TV2 in Norway, DR TV/DR Ramasjang in Denmark, LRT in Lithuania, Direct Sight/Pixel Channel in Ukraine, RUV in Iceland and Globosat in Brazil.
The series is also heading to France 3 Ludo in France, VIP2000 in Portugal, VRT and RTBF in Belgium, MTV3 in Finland, Minimax in Eastern Europe, CTC in Russia, Netflix in the US, TéléQuébec in Canada, KBSN in South Korea, and Cartoon Network in Japan.
“It’s remarkable how the image and personality of the character created by Charlie Chaplin, his unmistakeable walk, toothbrush mustache and silly, childlike antics, are so identifiable around the world," said Philippe Soutter, president of PGS Entertainment.
"That built-in recognisability has been the key to Chaplin & Co’s global success. Method has done such wonderful job of capturing that irresistible charm that once broadcasters see the animated character, they’re hooked. We’re thrilled that this series continues to be so well-received in so many diverse territories.”
Chaplin & Co is based on the antics of an animated version of silent film star Charlie Chaplin.
Produced by Method Animation, and commissioned by France Televisions and Rai Fiction, the animated series is now airing in over 100 territories.
