Character World raises over £1,400 for When You Wish Upon a Star

A 17-strong team from licensed textiles specialist Character World took part in the annual When You Wish Upon a Star Dragon Boat Race last weekend, raising £1,415 for the children’s charity.

The event saw 25 teams from the North West of England competing to raise money for the charity. Character World’s business contribution takes it even close to its £4,000 donation target for the year.

The firm is taking part in a number of events organised by different members of the team to raise money for the charity this year, including a Manchester to Chester bike ride, long distance walks and a Tough Mudder event.

"It was great to get such a big Character World team together," said Becky Brown, marketing manager at Character World. "When You Wish Upon a Star is a charity that is close to a number of people within the business, so we’re delighted to have raised such a fantastic amount."

Maria Moseley from When You Wish Upon a Star added: "This is the third year we’ve run the event and it’s been a huge success again. We rely heavily on donations and fundraising so it’s fantastic that local businesses like Character World continually support us."
