Character World readies for international growth with new software innovation

Character World has announced details of its latest investment in a software solution, as the company gears up for more international growth.

The Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system was installed in partnership with Prima Solutions, a specialist in creating solutions for the licensing industry.

The new PrimaNet software will enable Character World to operate more efficiently, as well as improving customer service with its supply chain and real time view of stock.

Adam Howarth, supply chain director at Character World, said: “We have been delighted with how Prima Solutions has worked with us to drive our business forward.

“As we expand internationally, the system will provide the perfect platform to manage relationships with retailers and our strategic partners. We needed an IT partner that understands where we want to take the business in the future and makes sure we’re on course to achieve our objectives.

“The new system supports the business through the entire company replacing a number of standalone systems and giving complete visibility. Speed in processing orders and accuracy of data is vital in a business like ours.”

Licensing business Character World produces licensed bedding and accessories, including duvet sets, towels, ponchos and toddler beds.

Mathew Burrell, joint MD at Prima Solutions, added: “It was clear that Character World is a fast moving business with ambitious growth plans. It needed a complete solution, using the best technology available to provide a strong foundation for the next phase of growth.

“The PrimaNet system brings all areas of the business together, allowing greater efficiencies and transparency.

“Together, we have developed a really strong team across the businesses, and for us, this is the critical factor in ensuring that the solution will succeed.”
