Children’s channel Pop has launched on Freeview channel 75.
Aimed at children aged from four to nine years old, Pop is the first channel to be added to the Freeview children’s portfolio in eight years.
Airing from 06:00 to 22:00, Pop kicks off with shows including Littlest Pet Shop, Finding Stuff Out, Sally Bollywood and My Little Pony.
The official Pop website, www.popfun.co.uk, allows children play with their favourite show characters and take part in a range of activities.
Pop founder CSC Media Group will be incorporating www.popfun.co.uk and TV apps, so kids can play games online or on mobile devices and see their avatar and high score appear on TV.
“Pop has been a trusted brand in UK satellite homes for more than 10 years and so we are genuinely thrilled to announce the launch of Pop onto Freeview," said Dominic Gardiner, head of children’s channels at CSC Media.
"Pop will become the UK’s fourth national kids TV network delivering a quality and fun alternative for kids and families in Freeview homes. Pop will entertain and educate UK kids and pre-schoolers with top cartoons and fun-tastic facts, featured in a brand new line up of UK premieres including new cartoons, Grojband, and super science shows, Finding Stuff Out”.
POP is also available free-to-air on Sky Digital channel 616 and Freesat channel 603.
