Walken joins Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba and Ben Kingsley in the upcoming live-action feature film.

Christopher Walken to voice King Louie in Disney’s The Jungle Book

Oscar-winning actor Christopher Walken has joined the voice cast of the upcoming live-action The Jungle Book film from Disney.

Walken will take on the role of the King of the Swingers, King Louie and joins a line-up including Scarlett Johansson, Idris Elba and Ben Kingsley.

TIME reports that Giancarlo Esposito (Gus Fring from Breaking Bad) has also joined the cast, playing Akela the Wolf.

Helmed by Jon Favreau, Disney’s The Jungle Book will be a mixture of CGI and live-action and will hit theatres on October 9th next year.

The film will go head to head with another live-action adaptation of the Rudyard Kipling stories, from Warner Bros, directed by Andy Serkis.
