Clifford the Big Red Dog finds new home at Paramount

Paramount has reportedly picked up the rights to the children’s book series Clifford the Big Red Dog from Universal, with plans to develop a new film based on the iconic pooch.

Universal previously had the film in development, which was set for release in early 2016.

Now, Paramount is set to develop a live-action/CG hybrid film that will be penned by Justin Malen.

First created by Norman Bridwell back in 1963, the Clifford book series produced over 75 different books and has since sold over 126 million copies worldwide.
