Cloudco Entertainment has detailed a significant expansion plan with the formation of a new hub in London as well as growing out its senior executive and content sales teams.
The new UK base will join Cloudco’s existing Los Angeles and Cleveland offices. It all comes as the firm – a recent spin-off of American Greetings – sees an increase in demand for its content and classic brands like The Care Bears and Holly Hobbie.
Joining Cloudco as the head of global licensing and based out of its Los Angeles office is Robert Prinzo, a former VP of consumer products at Saban Entertainment. Prinzo has spent a number of years also working on the softlines business at both Hasbro and Nickelodeon.
He has worked on brands like My Little Pony, Transformers and GI Joe at Hasbro and Spongebob Squarepants, Dora the Explorer and South Park at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products.
Prinzo will report to Sean Gorman, Cloudco Entertainment president.
Meanwhile, joining the LA office as Cloudco’s head of business affairs is Susan Chung who recently provided counsel for Multicom Entertainment Group and Sutikki’s debut pre-school series, Moon and Me. She is joined by Davis Doi who enters the company as executive producer. The seasoned animation director and producer has producing credits on Jonny Quest, Powerpuff Girls and Scooby-Doo and has a resume that boasts the likes of Bob the Builder and The Care Bears: Oopsy Does It.
He joins from Universal where he served as supervising director on the upcoming Curious George animated series and Land Before Time movie.
On the content sales side, Cloudco has also hired Alexandros van Blanken, director, content distribution. Based in London, van Blanken will report to Cloudco’s head of global co-production and content distribution, Karen Vermeulen.
With the opening of the new UK location, Vermeulen is also assuming increased responsibilities as managing director of Cloudco UK.
The London office will also house Cloudco’s director of international licensing, Roubina Tchoboian. Previously based in Los Angeles, Tchoboian’s move to London is to better facilitate Cloudco’s European business, moving it closer to key agents and licensing partners in the territory.
“The Cloudco team was already superlative, so to add even more high caliber talent as we grow is beyond extraordinary,” said Sean Gorman, Cloudco Entertainment president.
“I think that these new colleagues, combined with a UK office that places us much closer to many key broadcasters, agents and licensees greatly benefits Cloudco Entertainment, making it a more dynamic and engaged company for our associates and business partners.”
