Coca-Cola has made its first move to bring the Costa brand to the drinks aisles since acquiring the coffee brand last year, with the launch of Costa Coffee Ready-To-Drink.
The new range includes three of the brand’s most popular drinks in the Classic Latte, Caramel Latte and Black Americano. The range will be sold in 250ml cans that are 100 per cent recyclable.
The range is scheduled to land in the UK later this month, and will be followed by launches in Poland and China, with further roll-outs planned for later in the year.
Jennifer Mann, senior vice president and president for global ventures at Coca-Cola, said: “Our teams at Coca-Cola and Costa Coffee have been working around the clock to make our shared vision of Costa Coffee ready to drink coffee a reality.
“This demonstrates the power of our partnership. It combines the marketing expertise, global scale and distribution credentials of the Coca-Cola system with Costa Coffee’s expertise and capabilities in coffee.”
Coca-Cola acquired Costa Coffee for £3.9bn last year, a move that has allowed it to tap into the coffee market and compete directly with the likes of Starbucks for drinks aisles space.
Dominic Paul, CEO of Costa Coffee, added: “Through this collaboration we have been able to work together to offer consumers the great taste of Costa Coffee in a can for the first time.
“We are really proud to have brought this product to market at such speed while still ensuring the range has proper coffee at its heart.”
