Coolabi signs raft of new partners for Clangers

Coolabi Group has signed deals with six new UK licensees for its forthcoming stop-frame series, Clangers.

Launching in spring 2015 on CBeebies, the property is now licensed with Immediate Media Co, C&M Licensing, MV Sports & Leisure Limited, Gemma International Ltd, Trade Mark Collections and Rainbow Productions.

Immediate Media will launch Clangers in compilation titles in 2015, followed by a stand alone Clangers magazine in spring 2016.

C&M Licensing will develop Clangers children’s nightwear, underwear and socks while MV Sports will produce a range of wheeled toys including scooters, skates, trikes, pedal bikes and ride-on accessories.

Elsewhere, Gemma International will create and distribute a range of greeting cards and gift packaging, set to launch in 2016, while Trade Mark Collections will produce a wide range of bags and accessories.

"We are delighted to welcome such a respected and diverse range of new licensees to the Clangers’ portfolio," said Valerie Fry, director of sales at Coolabi.

"Their fantastic reputations and quality product development add to the excitement building for our newest pre-school property. With Character Options and Penguin already announced, Clangers is going from strength to strength."

Clangers previously launched on the BBC in 1969 and was voted the third best BBC children’s TV character in the 1960’s last week by the Radio Times and the British Film Institute in a poll of over 41,000 people in the UK.
