Coolabi’s The Clangers lights up BFI Southbank for CBeebies return

Coolabi Group’s BAFTA-winning animated series, Clangers is making its return to CBeebies this month with a run of 13 new episodes.

The new episodes of the pre-school animation premiered on Sunday, May 13 and will conclude the 26-episode second series of the show.

Clangers is co-produced by CBeebies, Coolabi Group and Smallfilms with BBC Worldwide for its international channels. BBC Worldwide is also the international distributor of the show.

The new block of episodes will once again be narrated by Michael Palin and will star returning characters Major, Mother, Small, Tiny and Granny Clanger as well as The Iron Chicken, Soup Dragon and Baby Soup Dragon.

Joining the Clangers for the first time will be The Moon Whale, The Space Tortoise and the Moo Flower.

On Sunday, May 13, Coolabi celebrated the return of The Clangers with a BFI Family Funday screening, hosted by the BFI and presented by the CBeebies presenter, Rebecca Keatley.

The interactive screening event was held at the BFI Southbank and included an exclusive preview of three new episodes, alongside insights into the show and more.

In 2015 The Clangers won the BAFTA for Best Pre-School Animation and Broadcast Best Pre-School Programme.
