CPLG to represent Yo-Kai Watch in Benelux and Italy

VIZ Media Europe has appointed CPLG to represent Yo-Kai Watch in Benelux and Italy.

"We are very pleased to have been appointed," said Maarten Weck, managing director, CPLG Benelux.

"We see a lot of excitement in the local markets on Yo-Kai Watch and have already experienced a lot of interest of local licensees. Together with VIZ Media, I believe 2016 will be a very interesting year for Yo-Kai Watch."

Maria Gurrieri, managing director at CPLG Italy, added: "We are delighted to have secured Yo-Kai Watch.

"We believe Yo-Kai Watch is the perfect brand to inspire the next generation of Italian kids. The themes and colours of the series have generated a great deal of interest in our local markets already and we are looking forward to extending the Yo-Kai Watch brand in Italy."

The series follows an average boy, Nate, who gets a special watch that empower him to discover mysterious beings called Yo-Kai, which cause little nuisances in daily life. Nate’s ongoing quest is to find out the reason for the Yo-Kai’s mischievous behavior and talk them out of it.

Global master toy licensee Hasbro has unveiled details of its product line, which will hit shelves in 2016.

Elsewhere, Nintendo will release its first localised video game in Spring 2016 in Europe.
