Experienced media executive Harold Sletten to lead growth of City of Friends brand.

Creacon Group welcomes new CEO

CreaCon Group has expanded its management team, welcoming experienced media executive Harold Sletten as its new chief executive officer.

Sletten (pictured) will be responsible for leading the development and growth of CreaCon’s flagship brand – City of Friends – and overseeing the business and management team. He joins from Bergens Tidende – Norway’s fourth largest newspaper. He has served on the CreaCon board of directors for several years.

His appointment will allow City of Friends creator and CreaCon found, Carl Christian Hamre, to focus on the creative content and long-term development of the brand internationally.

Hamre has taken on the role of chief creative officer at CreaCon Group.

"With so much going on in the international marketplace, the need for a dedicated resource on the day to day running of the company is paramount," said Hamre. "While I have loved the challenge of developing the business to where it is today, I am absolutely delighted to be able to return to my first love – the creative side of the business and developing future content for City of Friends."

Sletten added: "CreaCon’s focus will be to renew our focus on growing our roster of licensees internationally, with a particular focus on the UK and the Middle East. I am very pleased that Carl Christian will be able to dedicate himself to creating content and new concepts for City of Friends as this in turn will help the future growth of the brand."
