DC Thomson celebrates sales success of Diaries of Dennis the Menace

DC Thomson has seen sales of its published title Diaries of Dennis the Menace soar past a quarter of a million, in just over a year.

Sales across the range continue to flourish and the publishing programme from DC Thomson and Penguin Random House has now shifted over 300,000 copies since the start of the partnership.

The two are now gearing up for the launch of a fifth title in the Dennis the Menace fiction series, called Canine Carnage. The book will launch on July 2nd this year.

Penguin Random House recently added The Diary of Dennis the Menace: Menace it Yourself to the line-up, while non-fiction titles include the Dennis the Menace and Gnasher: The Golden Catapult activity book.

The publishing house also recently secured a raft of international deals that will see The Diaries of the Dennis the Menace published in seven foreign languages.

“We are thrilled to have secured over a quarter of a million sales across our partnership with Penguin Random House,” said Tim Collins, head of brands at DC Thomson.

“The speed with which we have met this level of success is a solid indication not only of the popularity of the brand but also its continued ability to resonate with young consumers and retailers.

“As Penguin Random House continues to expand the range with innovative publishing formats, we are committed to harnessing the success we have experienced so far.”

In addition to the Penguin partnership, DC Thomson continues to assemble a strong consumer products range for Dennis the Menace and Gnasher.
