DHX Brands has appointed Jakks Pacific as the master toy licensee for its popular tween show, Make It Pop.
Under the new deal, Jakks will launch a range of dolls, plush, dress up, role play, girls electronic toys and Halloween costumes in all territories outside of Europe.
The collection is expected to launch at retail to retail in 2016.
The news follows a commission from Nickelodeon US for a second series of the live-action, musical comedy series.
Make It Pop premiered on April 6th, this year on Nickelodeon US where it flew to the top of the tables for kids aged six to 11.
“Make It Pop has garnered exceptional ratings right from the start and has really hit the sweet spot for this age group,” sad Peter Byrne, EVP of DHX Brands.
“It has a distinctive look and feel and the deal with Jakks will be the foundation of a strong consumer products strategy as we appoint further licencees in core categories for this tween demographic.”
John Blaney, executive vice president of marketing at Jakks Pacific, added: “Jakks is thrilled to be the master toy licencee for the Make It Pop frnachise and we look forward to creating toys and products that fans of all ages will love.”
Make It Pop follows three girls, Sun Hi, Corki and Jodi who come together along with their classmate DJ Caleb over their love of music to form their own band.
Each episode of Make It Pop features original songs and performances.
