Gemma International, Ravensburger, Rainbow Productions and more join Golden Bear in burgeoning portfolio.

DHX Media builds licensing roster for Twirlywoos

DHX Media is already building a strong line-up of licensees for its new animated pre-school series, Twirlywoos.

Gemma International has signed up to deliver a range of greeting cards and partyware inspired by the new series, while Ravensburger will develop a collection of puzzles and games.

Fashion UK has been appointed to create an outerwear collection, Rainbow Productions will deliver on character costumes and DreamTex is currently working on a line of bedding.

The new partners join Golden Bear as the master toy licensee for the stop-frame animated brand, scheduled to air on CBeebies in February this year.

Golden Bear will launch its first product in A/W 2015, with a key focus on plush, play-sets and figurines, bath toys and games and activity products, all inspired by the quartet of bird-like characters.

DHX brands is already reporting ‘substantial interest’ in the Twirlywoos brand, a creation of Anne Wood’s Ragdoll Productions.

“The response from licensees since showcasing this property at BLE has been excellent,” said Peter Byrne, EVP of DHX Brands.

“We are thrilled to have appointed such a strong early line-up for this unique new pre-school brand.”

The show will combine stop-frame animation with live action sequences set in the real world and will follow the adventures of four small, bird-like characters, each displaying inquisitive and enthusiastic qualities.
