DHX Media has secured a raft of new deals with international broadcasters for its popular comedy-drama series, Hank Zipzer.
Now in its second season, Hank Zipzer stars the award-winning actor Henry Winkler and is inspired by the book series, Hank Zipzer: The World’s Greatest Underachiever.
The series will now air across Spain, Italy, Benelux and Latin America thanks to a new deal with Disney Channel.
Meanwhile, in Scandinavia, SVT Sweden and NRK Norway have joined the line-up of broadcasters currently airing the show.
DHX has also secured broadcast partnerships with ABC3 in Australia and e-Junior in UAE.
The comedy series follows the life of a 13 year old Henry ‘Hank’ Zipzer and is based on Henry Winkler’s own experiences as a young boy growing up with dyslexia.
“It’s no surprise that we have found international broadcasters for this series, given its universal themes, humour and sensitivity which are relatable the world over,” said Josh Scherba, SVP distribution at DHX Media.
“The popular books written by Henry Winkler have translated easily in to an irrepressible series which is ful of energy and fun, not least in his performance as the inspiring mentor, Mr Rock.”
