DHX Media has signed a raft of licensing deals for its popular children’s property, The Adventures of Abney and Teal.
The new deals will encompass the release of the animated series on DVD, nightwear and underwear and publishing.
Abbey Home Media has secured the home entertainment rights for the popular show, with two titles planned for release this year. The first in the titles will launch this Easter.
Meanwhile, nightwear and underwear ranges are currently in production through a new licensee, Cooneen and Misirli.
Completing the new deals, Redan Publishing will be featuring Abney and Teal in compilation magazines; Fun to Learn Friends and Fun to Learn Favourites. The publishing house will also have first option to launch a standalone title for the brand.
Stephen Gould, commercial director at DHX Media, said: “Abney and Teal is a refreshing, quirky property which embodies wholesome fun and adventure in a city park landscape that is familiar the world over.
“It has proved hugely popular with broadcast audiences and in particular the lead territories of UK and Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
“We are very excited to be further expanding the brand roll-out this year.”
Developed by author and illustrator Joel Stewart’s picture books, The Adventures of Abney and Teal uses a mixture of 2D and 3D technology and animation.
