With the continued success of Frozen, a new Tangled TV series on the way and a live-action Beauty and the Beast movie in the works, Disney is confident of the success of the Disney Princess franchise.

Disney sees its Disney Princess franchise ‘go from strength to strength’

The Walt Disney Company is seeing its Disney Princess franchise go frm strength to strength, with a raft of new entertainment products and initiatives across EMEA.

A lifestyle brand that aims to celebrate the adventures of its heroines from Disney’s catalogue of timeless classic stories, Disney Princess is added a new animated Tangled TV series and a new live-action Beauty and the BEast movie to its growing stable.

The two are expected to bow in 2017.

The new Tangled TV series will see Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi reprising their roles as Rapunzel and Eugene (also known as Flynn Rider) and will premiere on Disney Channels around the world in 2017.

With a score composed by the Academy Award-winning Alan Menken, the series will be set between the events of the feature film and the start of the 2012 Tangled Ever After short film, and sees Rapunzel acquainting herself with her parents, her kingdom and the people of Corona.

Meanwhile, and following the success of the live-action feature films Cinderella and Maleficent Walt Disney Studios has announced the release date for the live-action release of Beauty and the Beast.

The much anticipated feature film stars Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast/ Prince. The retelling of the classic fairy-tale will hit cinemas in the UK on 17th March 2016.

In addition, Disney continues to see success of its 2013 hit animated film, Frozen and with a raft of new products readying to hit retailers, the studio expects to see the brand continues in its popularity this Christmas.
